We booked a superior double room & it did not disappoint! The views at this hotel were spectacular (see pictures) and the wildlife was wonderful (see pictures). Every morning I’d wake up and watch the wildlife for 30-60m, basically saw everything you’d want to (monkeys, agoutis, toucans, iguanas, hummingbirds & lots of other birds). It was pricey but we were staying in peak season and after 1 night I realised how it was actually great value for money. The pool is small but ideal, the staff are incredibly friendly and booked excursions for us & the breakfast has that spectacular view! The location is a reasonable walk from Bienanz beach, which is small but nice and swim friendly, but I recommend the walk (or 380 colon bus) to Manuel Antonio beach as it’s much larger and has restaurants. It’s a short 5m walk from the supermarket and a plethora of restaurants. I strongly recommend having at least one sunset dinner at Carambola, the hotel restaurant, the views are unreal and the food is great.

We loved our stay at Mango Moon! The breakfast was good and the view is amazing. We stayed in the 2 bedroom room with one bathroom which is on the top floor. Our view was excellent. We could see the water and lots of wildlife. We saw capuchin monkeys, squirrel monkeys, macaws, and many other birds. The sunsets were amazing from here. The pool area is comfortable and we never had trouble finding a place to sit. The pool itself was very refreshing. The rooms could use a few easy updates. For example extension cords and coat hooks. There were only a few places to plug our electronics in and almost nowhere to hang towels or any clothes. One of our rooms has a large king bed which was comfortable. The other room had two single beds. The location is great, although you do have to walk a bit uphill to get to the main part of Manuel Antonio (a small bit of exercise!). To get down to the closest beach is definitely a trek though. Ubers were easy to get in the area as well.

From the check in to check out we had a great experience. I think it was Anderson who we worked with the most and he was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The cook that made the breakfasts was sweet and did a nice job with the omelettes and the bar/happy hour drinks were good too! We enjoyed the pool. The beach was not convenient to get to however so be aware. We only stayed 2 nights to experience Manuel Antonio. The room was small but clean and perfect for our short stay. The views are beautiful from the restaurant, pool and the room we had. I would not recommend for families but for couples it’s perfect. We had a car, you can walk to things but on a busy narrow road that has killer hills. Just be aware. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant one night and it was very good. You do need a reservation as they only have a few tables.

Mango Moon Villa was great for our family. We were on the 3rd floor superior room and had an amazing view from the balcony: Squirrel monkey, Capuchin, scarlet macaws, Toucans & so many more birds right from our balcony. The room & bathroom was clean. Loved the ease of the breakfast - set out buffet style with options that varied day to day - & helped when we needed to make an early exit. We had a vehicle and were able to get around Quepos & Manuel Antonio easily, the location was great! Loved that they let us borrow beach towels for our beach visit! We ate at the Korean BBQ restaurant at the hotel, and also walked up to the main street for easy meals also.

Mango Moon was my family's favourite accommodation of our Costa Rican adventure. The location is stunning, the grounds are lush, the wildlife viewing is amazing and the staff was incredible. Breakfast was delicious with many options, the beach was within walking distance (though very hilly) and the pool was small but perfect. I loved sitting on our balcony watching the capuchins, macaws and other wildlife go by. The a/c worked well and it was handy to have a small fridge in the room. Fran and Jake and the rest of the staff made us feel at home and provided suggestions and support during our stay. We loved it.
